Poker is fast gaining its popularity in different countries all over the world. One of the famous, if not the famous variation of this game is the Texas Hold’em Poker. Texas Hold’em Poker originated from a little town called Robstown in Texas. The game started to gain its popularity when it became part of the World Series of Poker Tournament. From then on it was played in casinos, at poker parties and even at home.

So how does one play Texas Hold’em Poker? First one has to have at least a minimum of two to a maximum of ten players. A dealer should also be selected among the players and will hold the dealer button. The dealer button will be passed to the player on left of the button dealer after the finish of every hand. In casinos though, a dealer is already been pre-assigned but the dealer would deal the cards in a way one would on their own.

The game starts by the dealer giving out one-faced down card followed by another to each player in a clockwise direction this is called the “Pre-Flop” round of the game. After the handing out of the two-faced done cards initial betting would begin, the first player on the left side of the dealer would give the small blind bet and the left of that player would give the big blind bet. These are called blind bets since bets are done without seeing the card on your hand. After the initial blind bets next player would start the bet, this bet made by the third player could either be called raised or the next player could have an option to fold.

After the initial betting are done, the “Flop” round will begin wherein three-faced up card will be dealt and this would be the community card in which the players can use to combine with their hand. Another round of betting would begin.

After the betting is done another card would be dealt face-up and this is called the “Turn” round. Another round of betting begins starting from the player on the left side of the dealer in a clockwise manner. When all the bets has equal amounts of value or all the players decided to check then the game would proceed to the next round. But if a player continues to raise or bet until all of the players decided to fold, then the whole pot would be given to the last player who bet or raised.

In any case that there are still players who are playing the game after the “Turn” round these players would then proceed to the last and final round of the Texas Hold’em Poker which is the “River” round. In this round another card will be dealt faced-up as part of the community card and another round of betting will begin. After the betting are all done the players on the table will begin to show their hands and the player with the highest combination will win the pot.
